Paula J. Forget

Biography:

Provide various Fine Art design services to studios and corporations; teach stained glass, create new works, restoration services, specializing in hand painted fired glass.

Recent projects:

2015-present, Bellingham, WA – teach stained glass workshops throughout the year; restoration and repair of antique stained glass; create original powerpoint illustrations, illustrations for published book.

2019 – Koi window, Bellingham, WA- 24″x36″ stained glass commission for private home.

2018 – St. Paul Episcopal Church, Bellingham, WA – Restoration of antique stained glass window.

2015Illustrations for published book on meditation ‘Guided to the Higher Realms’.

Art Studio experience:

2011–2014 Northern Art Glass, Ottawa, On, stained glass designer, glass painter, stained glass repair and restoration.

2005-2006- Zibits Studios, Gainesville, Fl.–  As studio artist, I provided artistic painting and sculpting for museums and exhibits.  Also, created unique landscape water features for distinctive homes.

Notable projects are:

Hoover Dam Visitor Center, Nevada– Re-created historical models representing         construction of the dam for new Visitor Center.

Mariner’s Museum, Newport News, Va.- Re-created historical model of Monitor iron-clad ship, re-created underwater view of Monitor wreck, for new phase of museum.

Muscatine Environmental Museum, Muscatine, Iowa- Re-created environment, circa 1800’s, depicting local wildlife, fauna and flora.

1999-2002- Emmanuel Studios, Nashville, Tn.Apprenticeship, designed stained glass windows for churches.  Involved in all aspects of production: design, fired glass painting, restoration, glazing.

1997-1999- J H Boone’s Limited Edition Art, Gainesville, Fl.Studio artist – Artistic painting, hand painted sculptures using various painting techniques, airbrush, dry brush, and fine detail painting, restoration and color matching.

Notable projects/showings – Florida 2007-2008:

2008- “Celebrate Women! 2008”, featured in annual calendar recognizing female Gainesville artists, month of December.

2007- “Celebrate Women! 2007”, featured in annual calendar recognizing Gainesville female artists, month of July, from “Voyage into Light” collection.

2007- West Point Military Academy logo, commissioned to paint Academy logo on glass for local studio, as gift to retiring officer.

2007- “The Beauty of Aum”, digital slide presentation with music, produced and written by Paula Forget, music by Richard Schulman.

2007- Michael Pellett Architect, Gainesville, Fl., solo art show, introducing the “Voyage into Light” collection of contemporary paintings and stained glass.

2007- Jonesberry Books, Gainesville, Fl., solo art show, displaying the “Voyage into Light” collection of contemporary paintings and stained glass.

2007- Wild Iris Books, Gainesville, Fl., solo art show, displaying the “Voyage into Light” collection of contemporary paintings and stained glass.

2007- Tench Building, Gainesville, Fl., group show, displaying the “Voyage into Light” collection of contemporary paintings.

Notable projects/showings – Tennessee:

2005-2006- Foreversnowglobes, Nashville, Tn.-  Designed series of 2-D and 3-D butterflies, for patented snow globes and gift set.  Developed the design of globes, butterflies, cards and book layout.

2006- The Factory in Franklin, Franklin, Tn. – Commissioned to paint historical Franklin Tn. Water Tower on stained glass for historic building during restoration.

2000-2005-  Holt Landscaping and Watergardens, Nashville, Tn. – Designed original line of waterfall/pond water features. Provided the conception of new projects, the design/rendering of models, manufacturing reproductions of natural rocks, painting using specialized stains and industrial materials.  These recognized as award winning landscapes.

2004-The Hermitage Hotel, Nashville, Tn.- Commissioned to assist during restoration of stained glass ceiling located in main lobby of this five star hotel. Reproduced painted stained glass details of damaged windows.

2003- Middle Tennessee Medical Center, Murphreesboro, Tn., –  Commissioned to design and paint stained glass window for the Women’s Pavillion of the hospital.  A 12’x12’ window depicting Jesus and the Children, to commemorate the children who are born in the hospital.  Built by Stained Glass Associates Studio.

Notable projects, Florida, 1995-1997:

1997- Columbia County Historical Museum, Lake City, Fl.- Oil painting in permanent collection.  Depiction:  Two Hawks, 19th Century Creek Native American.

1997- Downtown Action Corporation, Lake City, Fl.- Commissioned to produce life-size Christmas Displays for Downtown Lake City.  Theme: Old English period – Charles Dickens characters.

1996- Columbia County Tourist Development Council, Lake City, Fl.- Art Director.  Created displays for the Florida State Fair, promoting Columbia County annual events.  These displays were shown throughout the state and featured at the Stephen Foster State Park, Fl.

1996- Blue/Grey Army Educational Society – Civil War Reenactment, Lake City, Fl.-  Commissioned to produce an oil painting for the Olustee Battle Festival.  It was reproduced in limited edition print, and later on t-shirts, mugs, telephone cards.

1996- United Stated Postal Service, Lake City, Fl.-  Commissioned to design a cancellation stamp recognizing the  21st Annual Olustee Battle Reenactment.

1996- United Stated Veteran Administration, Lake City, Fl.- Designed theme for the Olustee Parade Exhibit.  It received the top award for the event.

1996- Artrain – Smithsonian Institute Travelling Exhibit – Demonstrating artist, techniques of printmaking, during train visit to Lake City, FL.

1995- Main Street Gallery & Cultural Center, Lake City, Fl.- Founding Officer, Executive Board Member, Standards Committee Officer. Organized art exhibits, community art festivals, plays, concerts and events.
